Live Well San Diego 5K

This year’s event will celebrate the hero in all of us with a superhero-themed race and activities throughout the morning. Includes a Kids 1-Mile Fun Run.

Supergirl Surf Pro

Where: Oceanside Pier

The weekend will be jam-packed with a world-class competition that will have you on your toes and a festival village loaded with female-inspired vendors, activities, and entertainment.

Insect and Ladybug Festival

When: July 20-21

Where: San Diego Botanic Garden

Time: 10am-4pm

Features thousands of fascinating creepy-crawlies including live insects, lizards, snakes, and the famous Madagascar hissing cockroaches. Children can practice bug collecting, hands-on insect arts, and crafts, and even taste cooked mealworm larva.

Burgers and Brews Invitational

When: July 20

Where: Del Mar Racetrack

Time: 1:30-5:30pm

Pass includes a ticket to the races, access to an exclusive trackside viewing area, access to the Del Mar Concert Series performance following the event featuring Ziggy Marley, gourmet fries & tater tots, five (5) 5oz. beer tastings & UNLIMITED samples of the BEST burgers SD has to offer!

Stone Brewing Hop-Con 7.0

Del Mar Racing Season

When: July 17-Sept.2

Where: Del Mar Thoroughbred Club

Be part of the magic and nostalgia of this long-time horse race tradition dating back to 1937 when Bing Crosby greeted the first guests, and Seabiscuit won by a nose in the infamous race in 1938. This season features the nations top racehorses, trainers and jockeys, and plenty of fun in the sun.

Over The Line Tournament

When: July 13-14 & 20-21

Where: Fiesta Island, Mission Bay Park

Time: 7:30am-6pm

Over 1,000 teams will hit the sand at sunrise on Saturday morning with their bats, balls and most creative team names to kick-off 66 years of San Diego tradition.

Movies & More by the Lake

Where: Santee Lakes Recreation Preserve

Bring your blankets and join us for a movie under the stars! Food Trucks and snack bar treats will be on site. Parking is $10 per carload of moviegoers and movie is free.

San Diego Business Mega-Mixer

Tanabata Festival

When: July 7

Where: Japanese Friendship Garden of SD, Balboa Park

Time: 12-6pm

Originating from Chinese folklore, Tanabata is a holiday that celebrates the meeting of Orihime and Hikoboshi! Guests of all ages are invited to enjoy the summer sun with festival foods, carnival games, cultural performances and demonstrations as well as partake in the Tanabata celebration by creating kazari.

Shefest (C3)

Where: North Park Community Park

Time: 11am-6pm

A woman-centered event that celebrates and supports the talents and contributions of women while fostering meaningful connections within the LGBT and larger San Diego community.

San Diego County Fair

When: Through July 4

Where: Del Mar Fairgrounds

The Wonderful Wizard of Oz Deep fried-food-on-a-stick, rides, animals, and games. World-class exhibits in fine art, photography, woodworking, jewelry/gems & minerals, and home & hobby, and the Paul Ecke Jr. Flower & Garden Show. The Toyota Summer Concert Series features nationally recognized entertainment.

Oceanside Independence Day Parade

When: June 30

Where: South Coast Highway

Time: 10am-12pm

Join us as it marches up Coast Highway from Wisconsin Street to Civic Center Drive. Viewing of the parade is available from the sidewalks along the entire route. Spectators are encouraged to bring folding chairs.

Switchfoot BRO-AM

When: June 29

Where: Moonlight Beach, Encinitas

Time: 7am-5pm

Surf contests, free concert, numerous vendor booths…all to celebrate community and to raise awareness and funds for local youth organizations.

Fairy Festival

When: June 22-23

Where: San Diego Botanic Garden, Encinitas

Time: 10am-8pm

Wear your fairy costume or come just as you are. Create a fairy house, make fairy treasures, leave messages on the wishing bush, or shop in the Fairyland market. Be sure to bring your camera for a picture with the Fairy Queen.

Summer Solstice

Taste of Little Italy

San Diego Wooden Boat Festival

Where: Koehler Kraft Boat Yard

Time: Sat 9am-5pm, Sun 9am-4pm

Live music, a galley run by members of the Koehler Family along with a few dedicated volunteers, a variety of booths, activities for children and a raffle with a large assortment of valuable items donated from local businesses.

Wine, Brews & Blues Festival

Where: Pala Mesa Resort, Fallbrook

Time: 5:30-10pm

Wine & Handcrafted Beer Tastings, silent auction, live music, dancing, beer n brats courtyard, tasty bites by local restaurants.

Wild Night Out

When: June 13

Where: San Diego Zoo

Time: 6-9:30pm

Join us for an evening of music, socializing, and animal friends, and a preview of Jungle Bells at the San Diego Zoo! Adults ages 21 and up only can visit parts of the Zoo, savor a complimentary beverage, talk with a keeper, meet some animal ambassadors, and enjoy a variety of music and more!

San Diego Festival of the Arts

When: June 8-9

Where: San Diego County Waterfront Park

Showcasing stunning works of painting, sculpture, photography, glass, jewelry, ceramics, wood, fiber and mixed media from nearly 200 world-renowned artists. A silent auction and wine and beer garden all contribute towards this philanthropic effort spearheaded by the Torrey Pines Kiwanis Foundation.

National City Gets Active

Once completing the scavenger hunt you are welcomed to a FREE community breakfast in the Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center which will include community presentations and a kid zone.

San Diego County Fair

When: May 31-July 4

Where: Del Mar Fairgrounds

Skip down the yellow brick road and enter into an Oz-some world inspired by L. Frank Baums classic tale, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Legacy Week

When: May 24-27

Where: USS Midway Museum

The lineup of activities ranges from a Wreath Memorial ceremony, benefit concert, family activities, blood drive, interactive exhibits and more. Each element of Midways Legacy Week commemoration is designed to honor and remember our heroes and celebrate our military heritage.

Valley Center Stampede Rodeo & Memorial Festival

When: May 24-25

Where: Star Valley Park

Mutton Bustin event, Junior Barrel Racing, and a Calf Scramble during intermission that is open to children in attendance free of charge. Rodeo proceeds are donated to local youth organizations, as well as organizations that promote the morale of our local military.

OMBAC Over the Line Beerfest

When: May 18-19

Where: Mariners Point, San Diego   

Time: 11am-6pm

Kick off summer with the Over the Line tournament, a baseball tournament complete with San Diego’s finest craft breweries and food trucks. Beerfest on Saturday and OTL Tourney on Sunday.

Van Go! STEAM Festival

This event features a silly soapbox race; fine arts exhibition, live music as well as visual & performing arts entertainment and a beer & wine garden.

Ramona Rodeo

Carry the Load

When: May 8

Where:  San Diego Fire-Rescue Station 35, La Jolla

Time: 6:45-9:30am

Join Carry The Load in honoring our military, veterans and first responders by walking with the West Coat relay team through Miramar National Cemetery as they continue on their 4,600-mile trek to Dallas, Texas. Participants are encouraged to bring a memento that symbolizes the load they are carrying.

Carlsbad Spring Village Faire

When: May 5

Where: Grand Avenue

Time: 8am-5pm

More than 850 vendors will sell clothes, accessories, plants, household products, art, antiques, and home decor. The international food court will feature more than 50 booths serving everything from Thai to Hawaiian cuisine. Children’s area.

Eat Drink Read

Where: San Diego Air and Space Museum

Time: 6-8:30pm

Experience imaginative dishes created by the most popular chefs from every corner of San Diego County, with each bite inspired by the chefs’ favorite books. Eat. Drink. Read. is the San Diego Council on Literacy’s annual culinary event that brings together friends of food and literacy every spring to raise literacy awareness and generate funding for the SDCOLs ongoing efforts.

Foxy Trail Half Marathon & 5K

Time: 7am

The out-n-back 5K is flat and fast with lots of lake views and single track technical trail. This is race #1 in the annual Dirt Devil Half Marathon Series.

San Diego Earth Fair

When:Apr. 28
Where: Balboa Park
Time: 10am-5pm

Will feature more than 300 exhibitors, special theme areas, a Food Pavilion, a special Childrens Activity Area, four entertainment venues, the Childrens Earth Parade, the eARTh Gallery arts and crafts show, and the Cleaner Car Concourse.

Spring Garden & Butterfly Festival

Where: Cuyamaca College, El Cajon
Time: 9am-3pm

The festival features various kid friendly activities such as tour of the Butterfly Pavilion, Butterfly Releases, the Pollinator Party & the Butterfly Discovery Lab, an appearance by Ms. Smarty-PlantsTM and Storytime with Miss Metamorphosis.

Taste of Liberty Station

Chicano Park Day Celebration

Time: 10am-5pm

Performances by ballet folklrico groups and numerous live bands, lowrider car show coordinated by Amigos Car Club, vendor booths, kids arts workshop and speakers.

Coronado Flower Show

Where: Spreckels Park
Time: Sat 1-5pm, Sun 10am-4pm

Exhibits surround a central gazebo which stages continuous live music entertainment, announcements, and trophy presentations. Food pavilion and beer garden on site!
